My friend's been asking me to design/create a business card for him. And after contemplating for a long time about which color theme we should go with- I just decided to create options for him. Here it is:

Okay. It's the end of the old year and the new year is less than 6 hrs away. My last entry of the year, and tomorrow will be a whole new day within the brand new year.

anyway, I would have had something beautiful posted in this entry only if I had actually taken a picture of this morning. The streets blanketed by the white powder snow-- yeah, I kick myself in the ass for not taking it. Of all the days I actually carry my DSLR, I didn't even take one shot of the streets... but, I can illustrate how it looked this morning. Just look below:

So, I've used my Thanksgiving break wisely/productively, and decided to finally screen one of my designs that I had in mind for a long time.

Of course, I don't have all the gear so, there were a lot of manual labor work. ha..

I've pinned down the shirt to a cork board so the shirt
will stay in place while I'm applying the ink. Also place
a newspaper in between the shirt so the ink won't seep through..
which I forgot to do ..

Qnswest retreat shirt designs..

I created 6 shirt designs for Queenswest's upcoming retreat (It was also a "contest"). And of all six, I had to choose one. Hard.. tough decision- whack. I thought, the more the better, also because there were no official rules and whatnot. But anyway, of all six, im only going to post three. because the other three are kind of weak. Here they are:

My friend and I just made a bet. We've been slacking off on our website, and today, we made a deal that by the end of this year, we will have our site up and running. The loser(s) consequence: $50 charity- ANY charity (i.e. my bank account if my friend loses). So, we shook hands and sealed the deal.

Yes! It is complete! it is FINISHED! For those who are lost in the dark, I've been working on an another book cover for my client from the past. I really hope she likes it and doesn't ask me for more or any revisions.. cause for what I'm getting paid for- it's not worth more than the price she offered, time, and no royalties. It's better than nothing, honestly, and money aside, I get some fame/exposure :). Now, all I have left is the fun part- Take massive purty photos of myself and write out another bio. whoopee! I'll update more about this later after it gets published :).

But, as for now I can go for some nice cold beer and a big juicy burger... like this one below:

Man, it's been a while since I've written on my blog.. sorry! I've been somewhat trying to prioritize myself a bit, and trying to get some work done. I feel like I have ADD. I am easily distracted (especially since the Olympics are on like 24/7). Therefore, I've secluded myself from distraction (sadly from friends too) and really got something done. Friends! I'm sorry I've been MIA! But don't worry, I didn't forget you guys :).

Nothing much to really write about. A lot of things has happened in my life within a month or two but they're small things. And even though they're small, they're meaningful and I become happier about life (not that I wasn't happy) and certain things that I've come to accept and experience. The only thing I'm not too fond of are the smallllllll bags under my eyes that I noticed the other day. Either that, or it's bad lighting. Nay~ I have bags. I guess I need sleep and try not to stress too much :).

June.. ah~ Half the year is already...............gone. Sigh* Time just seems to fly so quick as you get older. But sometimes, the strange thing is is that, when you're working, and you think the day is either going too slow or too fast- someone else is on the other side agreeing with you. It's not only yourself feeling the time/day flying by.

Well, June is going to be pretty busy and hectic for me. I'm in the process of sketching out a few ideas for the next bookcover that I'm doing for August (my previous client) that I want to have done by the end of this week. Then, my family is moving in two weeks.. meaning, as soon as i come home from work, I have to pack little by little, get rid of unwanted things, donate boxes of clothes and whatnot. Which leaves me very little time to work on some few things, and also trying to squeeze in a bit of family time. Then, my friend, Liz, and I are going to Dominican Republic for vacation for 6 days and 5 nights. As soon as I get back, I have to start 5 paintings for Cubic sq. foot show that I'm participating in (opening will be held in mid July). I think I'll be able to bang it out within couple of weeks. I already know what I'll be doing.. which is good. :). But the annoying part would be unpacking some boxes trying to get your paints out.. GAHH!!!

Time is precious! Let us seize the day! yeah...

As for my website. It took me 2 years to touch that thing and to pull it down but took only a couple of hours to redo the site with a simple basic touch. The reason why I'm still working on my site is because I'm trying to gather as many artwork as I can. I won't be including my past work, because they seem a bit premature and really wasn't my style.

hHaha.. Okay.. so Sandy, Ji and I met up at Central Park, bought our own food and had dinner then went to the Met. Luckily, there were a whole bunch of exhibition going on but we went to see Jeff Koons' work that was on the roof top. BOYYYYY WAS THE CITY ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! I mean, I've been on rooftops before with a nice view, but today, it just really blew me away.. tonight was absolutely great :)- but weather wise, i wish it was 10 degrees higher. That would have made our night even much better!

So, Ray and I met up to have lunch, followed by Central Park relaxation. He was near completion of his Thesis project and I, well, just needed some breath of NYC's finest air and I was also done with my paintings.. so for today, all we wanted to do was just relax and enjoy the sun mixed with some clouds. and Boy did we catch some good "Golden Sun".. :)

Okay, so on Wed. night, I was finishing up my paining, but the background didn't come out as I wanted to, so I decided to start over again (mind you, today is the Art Apart Show opening)... last minute. Yeah.. tell me about it. I had less than a week to come up with something, then at the last minute, painting didn't turn out well- so, yesterday, I had to go buy new materials during my lunch hour. I had about 8 hours to really start over again- I didn't sleep at all.. well, I had about 1.3 hr of sleep before going to work. Atleast I got some rest.. :/.

Well, the concept is still the same except it's done/colored/painted differently- mixed media and a little bit of changes with the characters. I'll post up pictures when I get the chance ... I didn't have time this morning to take some photos cause I running late. Anyway, I'm exhausted and super tired. I plan on going to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden tomorrow, shoot some photos and sleep in the sun. I haven't had good rest since March- so sleeping in the sun- outdoor- sounds great right about now. Breakfast- then sleep.... yes.... awesome..... I need it...

Now that the warm weather is approaching, It's somewhat encouraging me to look for another job (i don't think i can continue to sit at an office staring at the comp. screen 830am-530pm. I love my art dept. But I just can't stand working indoors with no window during the summer.. besides, I think it's time for a change and really get my career jumpin')- Art related of course (perhaps silk screening), and all I want to do is just relax. Sit back, relax, watch the white puffy clouds pass through the bright blue sky, wear nothing but some skimpy shirt and bottom and have a tall glass of Pina Colada on the side and think about absolutely NOTHING! Is it just me or is everyone else feeling like this too?.....

Hey guys! Thanks for coming out tonight!! I don't know why, but by the end of the night, I just felt freakin' awesome. Having friends, family, coworkers all just come together to see this one show and the ambiance and atmosphere really made the gallery (Agni Zotis- 107 2nd Street. Located on 2nd St. between Ave A and B) opening awesome! :P. Anyway, here are some pictures from tonight :).

YES! THE VINYLS ARE COMPLETED!! I did some last minute touches today and finally handed in my work. I didn't go with the initial idea I had in mind. Instead, what happened was, I was working on my first piece and the next thing I know, I was taking a different turn with my work and one thing led to another so I decided to go with a short story as oppose to having different ideas for each vinyl piece.

....for someone who doesn't drink coffee. But today, I decided to make some coffee at home. But it wasn't just one cup. My first cup had about 2 packets of instant coffees- which doubled the sugar and cream. About 2 hours later, I had another cup of Joe with 2 packets of instant coffees. That totals up to 4!! FOUR! coffees! I can't sleep now.. and spring forward does not help at all!! :/....

My friend loaned me her book called The Golden Compass. I know, I know, theres a movie based on that.. but honestly, I have no idea what the story is about. I don't even know the plot! But, today, I did some reading on the train on my way home from Pearl. And, boy does this book allow you to use your imagination! Now, I'm not a huge fan of Harry Potter books (sorry!) cause, it lead me to sleep one time. But, I had a lot of creative juices flowing through my mind reading this book. So, I decided to sketch something really small, and the next thing I know, I have somewhat of a small story which will be illustrated for my 3rd vinyl. I think I'll allow the viewers tell their side of the story when they see the final piece :). I'm hoping that It all turns out well in the end :). Oy~

So... I guess I lied about updating my blog every single day. Today is March 1st, Saturday, 2:41 AM, and my last entry was on Sunday. haha- I'll try to update more frequently, I promise.

So, I've been working on my LPs for the upcoming vinyl show that's due next month (the image just shows the beginning process of what I'm currently doing). I can't believe it's March already! Well, if you're in the NYC area, the gallery is located in LES (lower east side). And right next to it, there's this great Vietnamese sandwich place. A small, cozy place, and boyy do I bring this guy business! That's all I order there! Their sandwiches! Not a great place for big groups (5+), but hey... if you and your friends are on a TIGHT budget, and craving for some delish, sour dough, pork sandwich, I say you hit this place. It's 100x better than Pho Bang- once you try this place, you won't wanna go back to what you used to have.

Anyway! enough about food! Back to work!
